Our 7,200 sq. ft. machine shop has 4 Fadals CNC mills with G-Zero remote programming, 3 Bridgeport conventional mills, 2 engine lathes, a Tennsmith shear press and a Connecticut brake press. We also have 5 Millermatic TIG and MIG workstations. In addition we have extensive cutting, grinding, finishing, engraving and sandblasting equipment. Most machine components can be manufactured in house. This allows us to minimize time from concept to prototype, and subsequently from prototype to production component. Our skilled machinists are familiar with many types of materials, standards, and specifications. |

Metro Automation has an in-house 4,500 sq. ft. clean room. It has a level 1000 dynamic rating and a certified class 150 static rating. We have the ability to assemble and test a machine completely in the clean room. This can be beneficial when dealing with certain applications that have very strict contamination requirements. |

Our quality control and inspection area makes use of our extensive supply of measurement and inspection equipment. We have fabricated part and electrical assembly inspection stations including a Scherr-Tumico optical comparator and a Nikon measuring microscope (up to 400x). We also have a UNIX test station, a lithography plate test station, an EPROM programmer and eraser, a Gamma Scientific radiometer, an OGP Smartscope, and custom designed product specific test stations. This equipment gives us the ability to ensure that the customer has the highest quality parts before they leave our facility. |

Our 50,700 sq. ft. production floor incorporates approximately 40,000 sq. ft. of assembly space with 5 electronic workstations for circuit board, cable, and wire harness manufacturing and 8 electro-mechanical assembly work cells for equipment integration, debug, certification and configuration. This space allows us to assemble and test very large or several smaller automated systems in house, facilitating debug and helping deliver a better product. Our production floor has access to seven truck-height dock doors of various sizes, as well as one dock door with ramp access. |

Metro Automation has a 6,000 sq. ft. office space that houses our engineering and management offices. We use a Windows NT network in conjunction with 9 design stations that incorporate various software programs. Our engineers develop all designs using the Solidworks 3D platform. This allows us to view and animate components in 3D space to ensure proper fit and function before we fabricate machine components. We can also develop designs using AutoCAD if needed.
